Frequently Asked Questions
What types of paging systems does AIT install?
We design and install IP-based paging systems (network-attached speakers and amplifiers), traditional 70V analog paging, and hybrid systems that combine both. Common platforms include Speco, Algo, and integrated UniFi audio.
Can a paging system handle background music too?
Yes. We routinely deploy multi-zone systems where the same speakers handle scheduled background music during the day and pages or alerts when needed. Each zone (kitchen, dining, retail floor, warehouse) can have its own playlist and volume.
Do paging systems integrate with phone systems?
Yes. We integrate with most VoIP systems (3CX, RingCentral, Cisco, Avaya) using SIP-based paging gateways, so any extension can dial a paging zone or all-call directly from a desk phone.
Can paging be used for emergency mass notification?
Yes. We design code-compliant emergency notification systems with priority override, pre-recorded messages for lockdown/evacuation, and visual strobes for ADA compliance. Common in schools, healthcare, and large retail.
What outdoor environments can you cover?
Marinas, parking lots, drive-thru lanes, and outdoor dining areas. We use weather-rated horn speakers and IP66/67-rated amplifiers, and we run armored cable when needed. Common in shore-town hospitality work.
